WWE WrestleMania 33 Results Coverage (Updated)

Welcome to the WWE WrestleMania 33 results coverage from Ringside Results. The WWE’s biggest show of the year took place on Sunday, April 2nd, 2017 from Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida. Among the superstars involved in big matches were AJ Styles, John Cena, Randy Orton, Goldberg, Brock Lesnar, Bray Wyatt, Roman Reigns, and The Undertaker. Below are all of the latest results for WrestleMania 33 pay-per-view from Sunday night.

WrestleMania 33 Kickoff Show

Neville defeated Austin Aries to retain the WWE Cruiserweight Championship.Late in the match, Neville delivered a kick to Aries. He went to the top rope but Aries hit a huracanrana off the top with him. Aries hit a running forearm in the corner and then the 450 Splash for a near fall. He put on the Last Chancery but Neville managed to gouge Aries in his bad eye. From there, Neville went to the top and hit the Red Arrow for the win.

Mojo Rawley won the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. It came down to Zayn, Rawley, Killian Dain (NXT), and Jinder Mahal. Sami was able to rush across the ring to clothesline out Titus O’Neil late. However, right after Sami got tossed out by Dane. It came down to Jinder Mahal, Mojo Rawley, and Dain. Things spilled through the middle rope with Jinder attacking Mojo outside. Jinder saw Rob Gronkowski in the front row and talked trash at him, then took his drink and drank some before tossing the cup. Jinder returned to the ring with Mojo and Gronk got fired up enough to leave the crowd. Security came over and tried to back him off, but he got revved up and tore off his shirt and threw his hat in the crowd. Gronk got in the ring and got set up in a football stance then rushed across the ring to shoulder tackle Mahal down. Moments later, Mojo was able to eliminate Dain after his clothesline in the corner and then Jinder for the big win. He celebrated with Gronk after the victory.

Dean Ambrose defeated Baron Corbin via pinfall to retain the WWE Intercontinental Championship. In the late part of the contest, Ambrose tried for his clothesline from against the ropes. Corbin delivered a kick to stop him short. Corbin hit a spinning slam for a near fall. Moments later, Ambrose hit the clothesline from the side ropes. Corbin knocked Ambrose down and yelled at him a few times that he was leaving with the title. Corbin set up for End of Days but Ambrose was able to avoid it and put down Corbin with Dirty Deeds for the winning pin.

WrestleMania 33 pay-per-view

AJ Styles defeated Shane McMahon via pinfall. The ref was knocked down by Styles at one point, allowing Styles to set Shane in the corner and put a trash can against him. He went for the big leap from corner to corner but Shane sprang up and smashed him in the face with the trashcan. Moments later, Shane landed the move on AJ and then set up a pinfall. The ref had come to and went to count it with Styles barely able to kick out before 3. Things continued on as Shane tried for a big elbow with Shane on the announcers’ table. Styles moved away and Shane crashed through it. Back in the ring, Shane got the advantage again by fighting off Phenomenal Forearm. He went for the Shooting Star Press by Styles rolled out of the way. Moments later, AJ connected on the Phenomenal Forearm for the win.

Kevin Owens defeated Chris Jericho via pinfall to win the WWE United States Championship. Late in the match, Jericho got the Walls of Jericho onto Owens. However, Owens managed to reach the bottom rope with just one finger to break things up. From there, he managed to fight Jericho out near the ringside area and hit a Powerbomb with Jericho’s back onto the side apron. Back in the ring, Owens grabbed the winning pinfall.

Bayley defeated Charlotte Flair via pinfall to retain the Raw Women’s title in a Fatal Fourway elimination match. The match featured champion Bayley and challengers Charlotte Flair, Nia Jax, and Sasha Banks. Early on Nia knocked everyone else down. Later, Sasha, Bayley and Charlotte teamed up to hit a Powerbomb with Nia from the corner. All three women piled on top of Nia for the first elimination. Next up, Sasha and Charlotte fought a bit with Bayley out of the ring. Sasha hit double knees off the corner at one point. However, Charlotte managed to yank Sasha forward and caused her to hit into one of the turnbuckles that had been exposed. Charlotte quickly collected the pinfall to get rid of Sasha, leaving just her and Bayley. The two fought back and forth with Bayley hurting her leg a bit. She managed to fight off Charlotte on the corner later, and then hit a big Macho Man style elbow drop off the corner for the win.

Sheamus/Cesaro vs. Enzo/Cass vs. Gallows/Anderson – Triple Threat Ladder Match – New Day came out after all the competitors and said there is one more team involved in the match. New Day pondered on who it might be. Suddenly they stepped aside as The Hardy Boyz’ music hit and they came out to a huge pop. Matt and Jeff made their way down to the ring. They got the early control of things knocking the other teams out of the ring and setting up a ladder. Gallows and Anderson got back inside and knocked the ladder over with Jeff on it. The action continued going with Enzo and Cass able to gain control next.

The close saw everyone getting involved, but Matt and Jeff gained control. Matt hit a Twist of Fate off the ladder with Anderson. Meanwhile, Cesaro and Sheamus were set up on two ladders going from the ring to the crowd barricade. Jeff climbed a tall set up ladder outside the ring and hit the Swanton Bomb onto Sheamus and Cesaro to crash through the ladders. Matt climbed the ladder in the reing and unlatched the championship belts. Cole announced they are seven-time champions now in WWE. Cole said “Welcome home Matt and Jeff as fireworks went off and the crowd went wild.

John Cena & Nikki Bella defeated The Miz & Maryse via pinfall. The close saw Nikki and Cena hit Five Knuckle Shuffles on Maryse and Miz. They followed up by hitting the Rack Attack and Attitude Adjustment at the same time and then captured simultaneous pinfalls. Post-match, Cena grabbed a mic and gave a speech about how this had been Nikki’s wish when she learned of her neck issues, to have another big WrestleMania moment after her surgery. He told her a while ago he was going to ask her later on to marry him when the time was right. Cena ultimately said he needed her to say “Yes” again. He got down on one knee and produced a ring. Nikki quickly said yes and the two embraced as fans cheered them on. After moments of taking it in, they left the ring to go hug Nikki’s family in the front row. Cena and Nikki posed on the ramp before heading backstage.

Seth Rollins defeated Triple H via pinfall in an unsanctioned match. Triple H and Stephanie arrived out riding a large motorcycle with police cops on motorcycles leading them down the ramp in a line. Once they got to the ring, Rollins made his entrance. He came out carrying a torch in his hands and then lit the ramp causing it to have digital flames run all the way to the ring. The two competitors battled back and forth throughout with Rollins favoring the hurt knee. He hit a 450 corkscrew moonsault at one point and tweaked it again. Stephanie got involved several times. During the close, Stephanie got on the apron. HHH went at Rollins and Rollins avoided him. HHH had to stop himself short of hitting Steph. He turned around and Rollins hit him, causing Triple H to fall back against the ropes, bumping Stephanie off the apron and through a table to break it.

Stephen Marley, Lunchmoney Lewis, Pitbull, and Florida performed a two-song set for the crowd including a group of dancers on stage.

Randy Orton defeated Bray Wyatt via pinfall to win the WWE World Heavyweight title.  Early on, the lights went out and there were crawling maggots projected onto the ring. The lights came back and the match continued. Wyatt hit several Sister Abigails during the match but couldn’t put Orton down. At one point, Orton hit his DDT from the second rope but Wyatt countered with a second Sister Abigail. Later, the lights went out again with cockroaches coming on. That stunned Wyatt a bit, and moments later Orton was able to pop up and hit the RKO for the win. Wyatt yelled at Orton at one point and started to pick him up for a move. Orton snapped up and hit a quick RKO out of nowhere for the pinfall win. Orton is the new World Heavyweight Champion.

Brock Lesnar defeated Goldberg via pinfall to win the WWE Universal Championship. Early on, Brock landed two German Suplexes on Goldberg. The champ quickly responded with a Spear to take down his challenger. Goldberg got another spear moments later but Brock managed to roll outside the ring. On the outside. Goldberg tackled Lesnar through the timekeepers’ area with the two crashing in the heap of the barriers. Later on in the ring, Goldberg hit the Jackhammer and had the pinfall. Brock managed to get an arm up before 3. Goldberg went for another spear but Lesnar leapfrogged Goldberg and the champ crashed into the corner. From there, Lesnar hit 10-straight suplexes. He picked up Goldberg and hit a victorious F5 for the pinfall win.

Naomi defeated Alexa Bliss via submission to win the WWE SmackDown Women’s Title. The close saw Naomi jump out of the ring off the apron to take out all the other women on the outside floor. She grabbed Alexa Bliss and tossed her back in the ring. Naomi jumped off the side rope with a move and Alexa tried to strike her down. Naomi ended up locking a hold onto Alexa and eventually, the champ was forced to tap out giving Naomi the championship win.

New Day came out on stage to announce the official record-breaking crowd of 75,245 people at the Citrus Bowl for WrestleMania 33.

Roman Reigns vs. The Undertaker – WWE Hall of Famer Jim Ross was introduced as the special commentator on this match. He joined Michael Cole and JBL to make the calls for the main event. Reigns came out first. His entrance involved him pounding the stage with one fight to set off a chain reaction of fireworks down the ramp and then from the arena roof area. Undertaker was next. Instead of arriving out from the backstage, he rose up from the middle of the ramp area.

The match went to the outside at one point with Taker hitting a huge punch when Reigns tried for a drive-by punch. Moments later, Taker chokeslammed Reigns on one of the announce tables and left him there. Taker tore apart the two tables next to that one and stood on top of the US one. He signaled the cutthroat, but Reigns popped up and tackled Taker hard through the third one causing it to crash in a heap. Reigns seemed to hold onto his left shoulder. He managed to get himself back in the ring and then stood up. Taker was still down and Reigns spit towards the outside. Suddenly, Taker sat up, then hobbled to the ring and got back in to fight. Reigns took it to him in the corner, standing on the middle rope to punch away. Taker grabbed him and hit the Powerbomb for a near fall.

A chair came into play with Taker smashing it repeatedly across Reigns’ back. He put the chair down and got ready for a chokeslam, but Reigns got back into it and hit several Superman Punches. He went for a third but Taker grabbed around his throat and chokeslammed him on the chair. Reigns kicked out of the pinfall before 3 again. Taker responded by picking up Reigns and hitting a Tombstone Piledriver for another very near fall. Later, there was a Tombstone Piledriver attempt by Roman but it seemed to get botched somehow. Eventually, Reigns hit a fourth Superman punch for another near fall.

Roman waited for Taker to stand up and connected on a huge Spear. Reigns crawled over for the pinfall but Taker wrapped him into the Hell’s Gate submission. Reigns eventually escaped that and both guys recovered. Taker started to crawl towards the chair. He got a hand on it, but Reigns was on his feet and stepped on the chair. He grabbed it away and started to bash it on Taker and hit him in the gut, then tossed the chair down. When Taker got up, Reigns connected on a big Spear and had a very close pinfall. When Taker got up again, Reigns hit another Spear but once again Taker kicked out. Next time, Taker got up, Reigns hit him with a Superman Punch.

Taker tried to sit up and sort of did, but fell on his side. Reigns shook his head and walked over to him. Taker staggered to stand up. He reached his hand towards Reigns to pull himself up, but Reigns swatted it away. They trash talked each other a bit. When Taker got to his feet, Reigns punched him twice then ran from side to side ropes to connect on yet another Spear. This one was good for the pinfall win. Post-match, Reigns collected himself and looked over at The Deadman who was still on his back. He eventually left the ring and slowly walked up the ramp before stopping midway. Fireworks shot off from the stadium to celebrate the win.

Once Reigns made his exit and the music finished, Taker was still laid out. The fans chanted “Thank You Taker.” After several moments, he sat up. The commentary team reviewed replays from the matchup. Taker had got back on his feet and had his trenchcoat gloves and hat on. His theme music played as fans applauded him. Taker paced the ring a bit to soak it in before removing his gloves and coat to place on the ring mat. He took off his hat to an ovation and placed it on top of the rest of the gear in the center of the ring. Undertaker left the ring with his gear in it. He walked over and kissed his wife Michelle McCool in the crowd. Taker walked up the ramp and stopped midway before raising one arm up. He slowly sank into the ramp and disappeared. Taker’s bells rang several times to close out WrestleMania 33.
