WWE Tribute to the Troops 2016 Results from Washington, DC

Welcome to the WWE Tribute to the Troops 2016 results. The latest edition of WWE’s annual holiday show for the troops was held on Tuesday, December 13th in Washington, DC, and shown on USA Network on the next night. Among the stars in action were Roman Reigns, Rusev, Cesaro, Sheamus, The Miz, Bayley, and Kevin Owens. Below are the quick results and highlights for WWE Tribute to the Troops 2016.

Former ring announcer Lilian Garcia was there to sing the National Anthem before the show.

In the opening segment, there was a situation involving Roman Reigns, Kevin Owens, Rusev, Lana, and Big Cass. Mick Foley set up a tag team match involving them all for the main event.

Cesaro and Sheamus defeated Golden Truth, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson, and The Shining Stars to become new #1 contenders for the tag team titles. They’ll face The New Day on Sunday at Roadblock.

Apollo Crews defeated The Miz in a non-title match. The Miz came out and issued an open challenge (non-title match) to anyone in the back. Apollo Crews came to the ring with Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias. Crews got a win after Miz was distracted by Fluffy.

Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper and Randy Orton defeated Dolph Ziggler, Chad Gable and Jason Jordan.

They had a backstage segment involving Bayley, Dana Brooke and a service dog.

Bayley defeated Dana Brooke. Charlotte was at ringside for the match.

Rich Swann, TJ Perkins and Jack Gallagher defeated Brian Kendrick, Tony Nese and Drew Gulak.

There was a backstage segment with AJ Styles, Gallows and Anderson mocking New Day as “greatest team of all team.” Styles said The Club is and they did their “Too Sweet” hand gesture in the air. Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, and Roman Reigns arrived chuckling at them mentioning “greatest team.”

Roman Reigns and Big Cass defeated Rusev and Kevin Owens in the main event.
