Here are the WWE Smackdown results for the August 6, 2015 event held in Sacramento, California Thursday. Among the superstars and divas in action for this event were Roman Reigns, Rusev, Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Prime Time Players, New Day and Stardust. The show also featured the continued build up towards SummerSlam 2015 in Brooklyn, New York.
Roman Reigns came out to start the show and talked about his feud with Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper. He challenged the two to a tag team match against him and his former Shield teammate Dean Ambrose at Summerslam later this month. Rusev came out along with Summer “Lana” Rae to interrupt the promo and did some trash talking with Reigns. Reigns said he’d give him a beatdown in a match later on tonight.
Mark Henry & The Prime Time Players defeated New Day via pinfall. Henry got the pinfall on Kofi Kingston after hitting a World’s Strongest Slam on him. Later they had a backstage segment with New Day talking trash about Mark Henry not being a part of Prime Time Players.
Naomi & Sasha Banks defeated Charlotte and Becky Lynch via pinfall. It started out as a singles match but was turned into a tag match involving all four divas. Naomi and Charlotte traded pinfall attempts with Naomi getting the winning one by grabbing Charlotte’s tights to secure it.
Stardust defeated Zack Ryder via pinfall. Stardust was able to win after hitting the Queens Crossbow. Stardust did some taunting of actor Stephen Arnell from CW’s show “Arrow.” Arnell is expected to be a guest on Monday’s episode of RAW.
Roman Reigns defeated Rusev via pinfall. Late in the match, Reigns went for the rollup pin but Rusev hit a superkick on him and got a near fall. Reigns was able to avoid another superkick and then bounced off the ropes to connect on a big Spear. Reigns took the pinfall from there. Post-match, Bray Wyatt showed up on the Titantron and mockingly clapped for Reigns’ victory. He told him to consider his Summerslam challenge accepted and to bring along his lunatic. Wyatt told Reigns that he should now by now he welcomes this war.
