Welcome to the WWE SmackDown results for the Tuesday, November 8 episode of the weekly professional wrestling program. The latest installment was held live at the SSE Hydro Arena in Glasgow, Scotland. Among the featured matches was the WWE SmackDown Women’s championship bout featuring Becky Lynch defending her belt against Alexa Bliss. Here are all of the match-by-match SmackDown results for the latest show.
The opening segment featured Team SmackDown’s captain, WWE World Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles coming out to the ring. He told everyone to be quiet and talked about how Ambrose cheated last week to become No. 1 contender. Styles brought up how he hates that James Ellsworth guy and told the fans to worry because he didn’t fly out to Scotland. From there, Styles said he’d introduce his team and get them on the same page. Baron Corbin came out first saying he’d deliver at Survivor Series but not for Styles’ team. The Wyatt’s sounder hit and they showed up at ringside with Orton when the lights came on. Dean Ambrose was out next. He turned around and went back up the ramp to wait. James Ellsworth’s music hit and he came out to a bit of a reaction.
Ambrose said Ellsworth had never been to Scotland so he was his guest tonight. Eventually Styles and Ambrose got into it. Baron Corbin left to walk backstage, and Shane McMahon rushed to the ring. He told Team Blue they need to put their differences aside for Survivor Series. Ellsworth said something to Shane and he agreed. He named Ellsworth official mascot for Team SmackDown. Shane made a match right there featuring the Wyatt Family vs. Ambrose, Corbin and Ellsworth.
Breezango defeated The vaudevillians via pinfall. Late in the match, Gotch kicked Fandango off the apron. English tagged in but Fandango managed to hit a Falcon Arrow to pick up the win. That victory reportedly put Breezango onto the Survivor Series tag team.
Naomi defeated Natalya via pinfall. Nikki Bella was on guest commentary when Carmella came down to ringside. Nikki eventually went after her to drop Carmella down. Natalya came out to try to get them to stop. When Nattie got back in the ring, Naomi was able to surprise her with a rollup pinfall for the win.
Backstage, James Ellsworth was with Dean Ambrose who introduced their tag partner for tonight. It was Kane. Ellsworth asked him about strategy for the match and Kane told him “just don’t tag in.”
Baron Corbin made his entrance to the ring for a match. Footage was shown of how he assaulted Kalisto months ago. Out came Kalisto, who jumped into the ring but got taken down by a clothesline. Corbin kept tossing Kalisto around and trash talking him. He tossed Kalisto out through the ropes. Corbin got on the ring apron but slipped as the ref was warning him. Corbin seemed to favor a knee injury near the ring steps. Kalisto came running over and landed a dropkick into his knee. Corbin had to get checked on by refs. Kalisto looked like he was leaving the scene, but returned to hit a big Frogsplash on Corbin in the ring.
Becky Lynch defeated Alexa Bliss by submission to retain the WWE SmackDown Women’s title. Late in this one, Bliss had control after a near fall. She climbed to the top rope and went for a big move but Becky got both knees up. They traded roll ups with Becky able to switch positions into the DisarmHer. Alexa couldn’t get to the ropes. The ref was out of position to make a call so Becky shifted things in the ring. Alexa got a foot on the ropes but the ref missed as she was tapping too. He called for the bell.
Backstage, Shane told Bryan that Baron Corbin is hurt and can’t be a part of Survivor Series. Bryan said he’d find a replacement for him by the end of the show. Maryse and The Miz showed up. Maryse said Miz was so angry he didn’t want to speak to them. She said he was upset that Ziggler was defending the IC title against a Raw superstar. Bryan said that’s part of the theme of Survivor Series. He said also Brian Kendrick is defending the Cruiserweight title against Kalisto and if Kalisto wins he gets the title plus the Cruiserweight division comes to SmackDown. Maryse said Miz never got his rematch per his clause. Bryan said he can have a title match next week against Ziggler on the 900th SmackDown, take it or leave it. Maryse accepted on Miz’s behalf who looked upset.
Dean Ambrose, James Ellsworth and Kane vs. Bray Wyatt, Luke Harper and Randy Orton. WWE World Heavyweight Champion AJ Styles was on guest commentary. Kane and Harper ended up battling each other on the way up the ramp late. Dean Ambrose and Bray Wyatt were legal in the ring and hit each other with a double clothesline. With Ambrose crawling around the ring mat, Ellsworth looked to the fans for encouragement. They chanted “Yes” for him to make the tag and as he looked at his hand several times he started shaking. Finally he slapped Ambrose on the shoulder and got in the ring. With Wyatt still on the mat, Ellsworth tuned up for “No Chin Music” by stomping his foot in the corner. He rushed at Wyatt to try the kick, but Wyatt was ready and grabbed him for Sister Abigail to get the quick pinfall win.
Post-match, Ambrose checked on the fallen Ellsworth. Meanwhile, Styles got in the ring with Orton and Wyatt and they began to surround Ambrose. He started to get up ready to fight but Shane McMahon rushed to the ring to step in between them. He tried to stop them from fighting. Soon, Daniel Bryan’s music hit and he came out to loud cheers. Bryan got in the ring and said he had figured out a fifth member of Team SmackDown. He said his name was in the top righthand corner, but everyone knows he can’t compete. He said under his name are all the names of the men’s and women’s competitors on their roster, but there was another name up in the top left corner. He said that name is the name of their commissioner, Shane McMahon.
He asked if Shane will join Team SmackDown at Survivor Series and the fans started a “Yes” chant. Shane soon joined in to show he would participate at SS. The show closed out with Ambrose, Bryan and Shane celebrating to lead a Yes chant. The commentators hyped the 900th episode of Smackdown for next week featuring the return of Edge and The Undertaker.
