The latest show continued the build towards SmackDown’s upcoming No Mercy 2016 pay-per-view. Below are the quick match-by-match results and highlights.

The show started off with Randy Orton coming to the ring and cutting a promo on Bray Wyatt. He calls him out to the ring, but instead the lights go out and Wyatt shows up on the screen. He’s backstage and tells Randy he’s a God and this is his world so Orton is in no position to make demands. He holds up an hour glass and says he better hurry if he wants to hurt him because the sands of time wait for no mortal man. Orton takes off for the backstage area.

The Usos & The Ascension defeated Rhyno, Heath Slater and American Alpha via submission. Late in the match, Gable and Rhyno took out Konnor. Viktor connected an uppercut on Rhyno. Jordan sent Viktor out of the ring. The Usos ended up double-teaming Slater in the ring and took out his left knee from behind. From there, they put a single-leg crab submission hold on Slater to make him tap.

Orton was shown backstage looking around for Wyatt. He ends up taking a wrong turn and finds Erick Rowan wearing a sheep mask instead.

Carmella & Natalya defeated Naomi & Nikki Bella via pinfall. The close of this match saw Nikki pick up Carmella but get raked in the eye. Carmella kicked Naomi off the apron, but Nikki takes her to the corner. Natalya tries to intervene but Nikki nails her with a punch. Carmella uses the distraction to roll up Nikki for the win.

The Miz and Maryse hit the ring for Miz to talk about being back home. He introduces his parents who are at ringside and points out Ziggler’s parents are there too. He says it must be tough for them as they raised a world class loser. Ziggler’s music hits to bring him out to interrupt. The two end up in a war of words with Ziggler saying how Miz has cheated to beat him. Eventually, Miz trash talks Ziggler enough to the point Dolph says he’ll put his career on the line in exchange for Miz putting the title on the line. Miz makes sure he heard him right and proposes the match for No Mercy where he promises he’ll end Ziggler’s miserable career.

Women’s Champion Becky Lynch started to make her ring entrance but was soon hit down from behind. It’s Alexa Bliss who unloads some more on Becky. She slams her face-first into the ramp and then takes her title belt. She holds the belt in one hand and Becky’s head up telling her she doesn’t deserve the title.

They showed another Curt Hawkins promo. He finishes it by saying he’ll have a big announcement next week.

They showed a backstage segment where Bray Wyatt was asking where Randy is and calls him a “coward.” Someone is standing behind Bray and he thinks it’s Erick Rowan. The camera reveals someone wearing Orton’s hoodie. Orton reveals that it is him under the sheep mask and starts to beat up on Bray. Wyatt manages to escape. Orton kneels down and sing’s “in his hands” as he puts the sheep mask back on. Eventually, the camera cuts away and then shows Wyatt sitting there with a straight face.

AJ Styles defeated Dean Ambrose via pinfall to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Title. John Cena was on guest commentary. Towards the end, things went to the outside with Ambrose going after Styles. Ambrose landed badly on his leg which allowed AJ to hit a running knee to his head. Styles brings Ambrose back inside and then turns around to punch Cena at the commentary table. AJ goes back in the ring for a springboard but Ambrose ducked it. An angry Cena jumps on the apron to go after AJ but the ref gets in Cena’s way. Meanwhile, Ambrose has a pinfall on AJ but the ref is still distracted by Cena. AJ kicks out of the pinfall. Ambrose gets upset and goes outside to punch Cena for costing him the title match. Back in the ring, AJ is able to roll up Ambrose for the pinfall win.

Post-match, Cena gets into the ring to argue with Ambrose about what just happened. AJ leaves the ring. Cena and Ambrose are face-to-face. Ambrose kicked Cena and went for Dirty Deeds, but Cena countered it into an Attitude Adjustment. Styles comes in and kicks Cena to go for Styles Clash, but Cena turns that into an AA to drop Styles. With both guys laid out, Cena grabs the Heavyweight belt and holds it up as his music plays to end SmackDown.
