WWE SmackDown Results 04/11/17 – More Superstar Shake-Up Results

The latest episode of the WWE SmackDown results took place on Tuesday, April 11th, 2017, from Boston, Massachusetts. The weekly installment of SmackDown featured the continuation of the big “superstar shake-up.” Also featured on the show were WWE superstars including AJ Styles, Dolph Ziggler, Baron Corbin, and the newest arrivals from NXT: Tye Dillinger and Shinsuke Nakamura. Below are all of the quick WWE SmackDown results and highlights from Tuesday night’s show.

wwe superstar AJ StylesUS Champion Kevin Owens came to the ring to announce he was now part of SmackDown and that’s all that matters. He got interrupted by Baron Corbin who wanted a title shot since Ambrose left for Raw. Sami Zayn came out and announced he’s part of SmackDown too and wants the title shot. AJ Styles was next and he came out saying SmackDown is the house that he built. Eventually, GM Daniel Bryan arrived out. He said the US title won’t be defended on SmackDown until after Payback. He booked a No. 1 contender’s triple threat match for later between Corbin, Zayn and Styles.

Randy Orton defeated Erick Rowan due to disqualification. Orton had control and went for a draping DDT but Bray Wyatt appeared on the big screen. He reminded Orton he is everywhere and will see Randy very soon. When the lights went out and came back on, Orton went after Rowan on the outside. Rowan gained control and hit Orton with the steel step then brought him back into the ring to lay him out.

The Usos defeated American Alpha via pinfall to retain the WWE Tag Team Championship. Late in the match, everyone was getting involved. The Usos went for suicide dives to the outside but Alpha caught them and suplexed them. Back in the ring, Alpha went for Grand Amplitude but it was broken up with Jordan getting sent to the outside. Jimmy hit the big splash on Gable and got the pinfall cover for the win. After the match, Shining Stars showed up as a new part of SmackDown to attack Alpha on the outside.

Mojo Rawley defeated Jinder Mahal via pinfall. Rob Gronkowski was in the crowd. Towards the end of the match, Jinder went to the outside to get in Gronk’s face. Mojo grabbed Jinder from behind and hit him. Gronk tossed some beer in Mahal’s face. Back in the ring, Mojo hit his big running strike move in the corner to get the win.

Shane McMahon came to the ring to address the women’s division on SmackDown. He called out the current stars Becky, Natalya, Carmella and Naomi. He introduced the women’s champion and James Ellsworth interrupted to call her a horrible champion. Naomi got in his face and then apologized to Shane to find out who the new women on SD would be. Shane introduced a second generation superstar who was the daughter of a champion and Hall of Famer. He introduced Tamina. He said the crowd probably thought he meant someone else. He introduced Charlotte Flair next and called her the biggest acquisition of the superstar shake-up. Charlotte walked out onto the stage and posed.

After the commercial break, the commentators announced that Sin Cara and Rusev would be joining SmackDown.

Tye Dillinger defeated Aiden English via pinfall. The match lasted a bit under four minutes. The close saw Tye gain the advantage and hit the Tye Breaker for the win.

Dolph Ziggler was doing an in-ring promo when he was interrupted by Shinsuke Nakamura. After the crowd chanted and sang Nakamura’s music, Ziggler asked who he thought he was and Nakamura told him slowly, “Shinsuke Nakamura.” Ziggler shrugged him off and then went to kick him. Nakamura caught his foot and set Ziggler down near the ropes. He taunted Dolph to come get some but Ziggler left the ring.

AJ Styles defeated Sami Zayn via pinfall in a Triple Threat to determine the No. 1 contender for the WWE United States Championship. Also competing was Baron Corbin. The finish saw Zayn deliver a Helluva Kick to knock Corbin out of the ring. When Zayn turned back around, Styles was ready from the side apron and hit his Phenomenal Forearm off the side ropes.
