WWE SmackDown Results 04/04/17 for Orlando, Florida Episode

Welcome to the WWE SmackDown results for the Tuesday, April 4th, 2017, episode of the weekly show. This week’s installment was held at Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. It’s the first episode of the professional wrestling program to arrive after Sunday’s big WrestleMania 33 pay-per-view. Among the big stories will be the new champions Randy Orton and Naomi, as well as John Cena’s proposal to Nikki Bella and more. Below are all of the latest WWE SmackDown results and highlights.

wwe superstar AJ StylesSmackDown opened with still shot and video highlights from the matches at WrestleMania 33 involving stars from the roster. It included highlights of Styles vs. Shane, Naomi making Alexa tap, Cena and Nikki winning before Cena proposed to her, and Orton winning the World Heavyweight title.

Brand new World Heavyweight champion Randy Orton came to the ring with his title belt. He talked about how he took down Wyatt on Sunday and he proved he is his master now. Orton said Bray will never forget his name. The¬†Wyatt sound effect hit and Bray showed up on the screen. He told Orton he’s the master of nothing and this has just begun. He said he was going to claim what “she promised was his.” He told Orton his rematch is coming but he’s not going to fight him in a regular match. Wyatt said they will fight in something he calls a “House of Horrors” match. Orton told him he’s got no idea what that is, but he accepts it. He told Bray to bring himself to the ring right now so they could sort things out.

Wyatt’s effects went off again and the lights went out. When they came on, Wyatt was in the ring behind Orton with a mic. He said “I’m here” and then attacked Orton. Randy got the upper hand but as he went against the ropes, someone yanked his leg and pulled him out of the ring. A guy in a sheep mask with hoses connected to it beat up on Orton and then threw him against the crowd barricade. He took off the mask and it was Erick Rowan. Rowan and Wyatt doubleteamed Orton in the ring but then Luke Harper’s music hit and he arrived out to the ring to make a save. Wyatt and Rowan backed up the ramp as Orton and Harper stood tall in the ring.

Backstage, Renee Young interviewed The Miz and Maryse. She asked what they thought about Cena’s proposal to Nikki at Mania. Maryse and Miz laughed it off. Maryse said Nikki backed John into a corner. Miz said he had to save face, and it was good marketing on his part. Miz credited them with forcing Cena to do that after their weeks of insults.

Naomi defeated Alexa Bliss via submission in a WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship rematch. The close saw Naomi get on the corner and knock Alexa away. Moments later, Alexa yanked Naomi off the corner onto her back. Alexa made a pinfall cover and grabbed both ropes for leverage. The ref yelled at her hit her hand off, allowing Naomi to reverse the pinfall. She turned it into the submission hold she used to win at Mania and Alexa was forced to tap out.

Curt Hawkins was in the ring after commercial break. He talked about how all he’s hearing about is the superstar shakeup coming to Raw and SmackDown soon. He said everyone should be talking about him. Hawkins issued an open challenge to the back to anyone who answers the count of 10. NXT star Tye Dillinger’s music hit and he arrived out to the ring to make his main roster debut with an ovation from the fans.

Tye Dillinger defeated Curt Hawkins via pinfall. Throughout the match, the fans yelled out “10” at spots from Dillinger including him punching away on Hawkins in the corner. Dillinger eventually finished him off with a Tye Breaker dropping Hawkins back of his head against his knee.

Dasha interviewed Mojo Rawley backstage about his Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal win. He said he was just getting started and now the bar has been set high so he needs to reach for it.

John Cena’s theme music hit and out came The Miz dressed as Cena mocking his entrance. Maryse came out too in Nikki’s gear including her hat. She did the Nikki spin move on the stage and then tore off her top like Nikki before they ran to the ring. Once inside, they continued to mock things. Miz put his hand on Maryse’s head and said a robotic “I love you.” They said the fans won’t see them anymore because they’re going to Hollywood. The fans cheered for it. Miz said “BYE” as Cena and they started to exit through the ropes. Suddenly, a man arrived out on the ramp and started playing violin. He did his solo and then NXT star Shinsuke Nakamura’s music hit as he arrived out. The fans hummed and sang along with his theme music as Shinsuke got the ring and posed. The commentators talked about the big moment as SD went to break.

Baron Corbin defeated Dean Ambrose via pinfall in a non-title Street Fight. The match saw Ambrose take out Corbin over the announcers table and then into the crowd ahead of commercial break. Later, Ambrose got an elbow drop from the corner to crash through Corbin on a table outside the ring. Back in the ring later, Ambrose got an unlucky break as Corbin grabbed him and hit a quick End of Days to get the pinfall win.

Shane McMahon addressed the WWE SmackDown fans about the upcoming superstar shakeup. He talked up how it was a rough past few days in the sunshine state for him. AJ Styles’ music hit and he came out to interrupt. He waited out an AJ Styles chant in the ring before saying when this shakeup thing happens he doesn’t want to go anywhere. He said SmackDown is the house that AJ Styles built. He said he’ll be damned if anyone else comes to the roster and tries to take that from him either. Before he left the ring he said he felt he needed to come out because he owed Shane something after Sunday. AJ put his hand forward for a shake. Shane hesitated at first but then put his hand out and they shoook to the crowd’s cheers. AJ let go of the handshake and turned to leave. Shane kept an eye on him. AJ did a fake like he was going to hit him and Shane reacted ready to fight back. Styles smirked and did his Phenomenal pose before leaving the ring.

Randy Orton & Luke Harper defeated Bray Wyatt & Erick Rowan via pinfall. The close saw Orton gain the upper hand against Wyatt. He was ready to go for a big move until the Wyatt sound effects hit and the arena lights went out. When the lights came back on, Wyatt was seated up on the ramp area and Rowan was behind Orton in the ring. Rowan grabbed Randy in a full nelson type move. The Viper slipped out of it and Harper was ready to deliver a super kick. It knocked Rowan back and Orton hit the RKO to get the pinfall win. As Orton and Harper celebrated the victory, Bray was laughing up on the ramp area maniacally.
