SmackDown opened with AJ Styles backstage watching as they had just shown highlights from John Cena defeating him at the Royal Rumble PPV for the title. Styles complained that he wants his rematch and not in the Elimination Chamber. Shane and Daniel Bryan said he’ll get one, but they’ve got a show to run. Styles asked out of curiosity who is in the chamber match. Shane ran through the names: Styles, Dean Ambrose, Baron Corbin, Bray Wyatt, The Miz, and John Cena. Dean Ambrose showed up and said now that James Ellsworth is in love maybe he and Styles can finish their unfinished business. Ambrose suggested a match and Shane agreed to it tonight.
The new WWE World Heavyweight Champion arrived out to the ring to mixed cheers and boos. He gave praise to AJ Styles for bringing out the absolute best in him. He said now he has to prepare to defend the title in about two weeks in Elimination Chamber. Cena talked about how he’s now the man to beat and said “if you want some come get some.” The Wyatt Family entrance hit and the lights went down. Bray came out onto the ramp with Royal Rumble winner Randy Orton. Bray talked about how no matter how much it seems things change around there, they always stay the same. Bray told Cena he’ll be “trapped like a rat” inside the Elimination Chamber with nowhere to run or hide. Bray said once he wins the title at the chamber things will change.
Orton got on the mic and told Cena if by some miracle he gets out of the chamber with the title, Orton will be waiting for him at WrestleMania. He said one way or another the Wyatts are going to set that championship free. Bray told him “John, we’re here” and he headed to the ring with Orton to surround it. The Wyatt sounder hit and the lights went out just as Bray and Randy got in the ring. As they returned, Luke Harper was standing next to Cena in the ring. Bray and Orton quickly fled the ring. Moments later, Shane McMahon came out and set up a tag team match involving the four men, for next.
Bray Wyatt and Randy Orton defeated John Cena and Luke Harper via pinfall. At one point, Harper was in against Bray who said something to him causing Luke to back up and tag Cena in before leaving to the outside for a bit. Cena looked out at Harper wondering if he was on his side. The finish saw Harper go after Orton with Bray getting in between. Luke went around Bray and attacked Orton. He ended up getting shoved to Bray who went for a Sister Abigail. Luke escaped it and set up for the move himself. He broke out of it as Orton came at him, so Harper leveled Orton. Bray grabbed Luke and hit Sister Abigail. Cena got up and went for the AA on Bray, but Orton came over to help Bray escape it. From there, Orton spun Cena and hit the RKO for the win.

With Alexa laying near the corner, Naomi did her springboard flip to splash onto her and then collected the winning pinfall.

Next, the Vaudevillains’ theme music hit and they arrived out, followed by Breezeango and then Rhyno and Slater. All of the teams brawled in the ring with the referees trying to restore order as SmackDown went to commercials. After the break, the brawl was still going on. Eventually, all of the teams were cleared from the ring except for American Alpha and the team of Rhyno and Slater. Alpha’s music played on as they stared down with Rhyno and Slater from across the ring.
The commentators reviewed the feud going on between Natalya and Nikki Bella. Daniel Bryan was backstage on a phone call with Brie when two security guards walked in. They said “all clear” and then Natalya walked in with Bryan asking what all this was for. Nattie said Nikki’s been out of control lately. She said she knows he wanted to see her to talk about her new merchandise. Nikki Bella showed up and chuckled at Natalya needing security. The two women’s stars started to bicker until eventually, Bryan yelled “Enough!” Bryan told them he has booked Natalya vs. Nikki Bella for the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view.
AJ Styles vs. Dean Ambrose – non-title match. Miz was on guest commentary during the match with Maryse seated next to him. Miz bickered a lot with David Otunga about being famous as the match went on. At one point, Ambrose gained control but then Baron Corbin’s theme music hit and he arrived out to watch as Styles was recovering on the outside. After break, Baron Corbin had joined the commentary team to watch the match.
The two stars traded moves late. Styles hit an impressive springboard into a near move which Ambrose countered. Ambrose slammed Styles on his back for a near fall. Miz started jawing more and more with Ambrose talking up his experience over Corbin’s in the WWE. Styles went for a cross body but Ambrose caught him, Styles counted for a near fall. The close came when Corbin had enough of Miz’s trash talk and went over to attack him at the commentary spot. Miz ducked into the ring and Corbin grabbed him. Ambrose had a pinfall but the ref was distracted by Corbin and Miz almost in the ring.
Ambrose went out and attacked Corbin, tossing him onto the announce table. He went back in to go for a move on Styles who was ready and hit the Styles Clash for the win. Post-match, Styles backed up the ramp in celebration of the win. Miz got in the ring and picked up Ambrose to hit Skullcrushing Finale. Corbin came in and grabbed Miz to hit End of Days. He picked up Ambrose and hit the move again, with his music playing on as he stood tall in the ring. Smackdown closed with Styles watching from the ramp.
