The WWE Royal Rumble 2016 arrives full force on Sunday night and will take place at the Amway Center in Orlando, Florida. Remember, this year’s Rumble doesn’t give the winner a spot in a championship match at WrestleMania, but the winner will be the WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Roman Reigns will enter the match as the No. 1 competitor, but must survive 29 others in order to emerge as the champion still! Here’s the latest look at the match card and some possible rumors for surprise entrants.
2016 WWE Royal Rumble Card:
- 30-Man Royal Rumble Match (WWE Champion Roman Reigns enters No. 1, championship goes to winner of this year’s match)
- Kalisto vs. Alberto Del Rio (c) – United States Championship
- Kevin Owens vs. Dean Ambrose (c) – Intercontinental Championship Last Man Standing Match
- Becky Lynch vs. Charlotte (c) – WWE Divas Championship
- The Usos vs. The New Day (c) – WWE Tag Team Championship
A special Royal Rumble Kick-Off show starts up at 7pm ET on WWE Network and features a Fatal Fourway for the #1 contender spot for the tag team titles. Competing will be The Ascension, The Dudley Boyz, Jack Swagger and Mark Henry vs. Darren Young and Damien Sandow. Whichever team wins also gets an automatic entry into the Rumble. There may be at least one other match on the pre-show with similar stipulations.
Possible surprises and rumors? AJ Styles has signed with WWE recently and the former TNA champ could be amongst those popping up as entrant in the Rumble. Another may be Austin Aries and/or Samoa Joe, both of whom WWE snagged from TNA. Don’t forget about Triple H, who many feel could win it all this year and take the title away from Roman Reigns to set up a clash at WrestleMania!
As for predicted winners, we feel the only possible new champs tonight will be Becky Lynch winning the Divas title and Triple H taking the WWE World Heavyweight. Other than that, we see Dean Ambrose, New Day and Ambrose holding onto their belts. Let us know your predictions in the comments below!
