The show opened with a segment where women’s champ Sasha Banks was in the ring talking about how great she feels after reclaiming the title. Sasha encouraged all the young girls at home that they can be like her and to “go get it.” Charlotte’s music hit and she came out to interrupt. However, as she was walking to the ring, Rusev’s music hit and he came down the ramp past her with Lana. Charlotte also got in ring with them all. Rusev said nobody cares about their women’s revolution or that they main evented Raw. Charlotte took the mic from him and said nobody disrespects the queen. She told Sasha she’s on for a Hell in a Cell match for the title at the PPV.
Rusev stole the mic back and said he wasn’t done since it’s his ring. Sasha took the mic from him and tossed it down. Lana told Sasha and Charlotte that they need to know their place because they whine like little girls. She said Hell in a Cell is for real men like Rusev. Sasha and Charlotte both shoved down Lana then hit a double dropkick to send Rusev out of the ring. Roman Reigns made an entrance and came to the ring. Rusev decided not to enter as Reigns stared him down from in the ring. Sasha and Charlotte argued some more.

Mick Foley came to the ring to address the Raw fans. Stephanie joined him in the ring. He said the women deserve to make history at the next PPV and will be inside Hell in a Cell. Foley said Rollins will get his rematch against Owens inside Hell in a Cell. Kevin Owens and Jericho came out to protest that announcement. Owens said he doesn’t want a HIAC match but wants to have a long career and not end up a washed up nobody like GM Mick Foley. Jericho accused Foley of not liking him and taking it out on Owens. He asked if he was putting his top champion at risk in the same match that ended Foley’s career. Foley said, “You’re damn right I am.”
Jericho got upset and said Foley’s on his list. Stephanie told Jericho he needs to show respect to the GM. She said Rollins deserves the rematch and he also wants to get his hands on Jericho. She said Jericho will face Rollins tonight and if he beats him, he’s added to the HIAC match for Owens’ title. Stephanie told Owens to “have a nice day” and gave him a thumbs up.
Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel were in the ring for a tag match against Enzo and Cass. They made their entrance and went to deliver a promo but Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson came out to attack from behind. They hit a Boot of Doom on Enzo and then laid out Cass with the Magic Killer.
After commercial, Bo and Axel were in the ring. Axel asked if they were on an episode of “Swerved.” He and Bo demanded a match and said they weren’t leaving until they got one. They told Foley sent some opponents out for them.

Backstage, TJ Perkins went up to Brian Kendrick and told him he knows the real Kendrick isn’t just about cheap tricks. He reminded me of them a former road trip they took when a N64 broke down and Kendrick got him a new one. He said it’s not too late for him to be the guy he knows he is. They shook hands. Kendrick got up and looked ready to sucker punch him but Perkins beat him to it. Perkins said, “Guess I was wrong” before he left.
Braun Strowman defeated Steven and Clay Splash via pinfall. It was another squash match for Strowman who won it by dominating the handicap match in one minute. Roman Reigns & Sasha Banks defeated Rusev & Charlotte via submission. The match lasted nearly 10 minutes. At one point, Reigns hit the Superman Punch on Rusev and drew some boos. Charlotte tagged in so Sasha came in as well and got the advantage. Charlotte tried for a rollup pin but Sasha kicked out. Moments later, she got the Bank Statement locked in. Reigns came in and hit a Spear on Rusev to stop him from interfering. Charlotte eventually tapped out.
Paul Heyman came to the ring to cut a promo. He talked about being the advocate for Brock Lesnar, the beast who is on the cover of the new WWE video game. He brought up Goldberg and Lesnar. He posed the question “what if people could experience that dominance for just one night,” and asked “what if there is just one more spear or jackhammer.” He talked about Goldberg dominating and victimizing his opponents for years. He said Brock still has one blemish on his career record and it keeps him up at night.
Heyman said he’s been authorized to come out and let the WWE Universe that Goldberg is challenged to a fight. He said it will be “One on one, Beast vs. The Myth, Icon vs. Icon.” The fans did a Goldberg chant. He finished his promo talking about how Goldberg can get into the ring and be beaten, victimized and conquered by Lesnar. He told Goldberg that “in Suplex City, you’re not Goldberg, you’re next.” Heyman dropped the mic and left the ring.
TJ Perkins defeated Ariya Daivari via submission in a non-title match. Perkins avoided a late splash attempt by Daivari. From there, Perkins dropkicked him and then put the kneebar on for the win. Kendrick was on guest commentary and stood up to applaud Perkins as he walked up the ramp.
Backstage, Jericho and Stephanie talked. He told her he’d removed her name from his list. Stephanie talked up the HIAC Triple Threat match and how it will blow away the No Mercy main event. She said that if Jericho and Owens are as good as friends as he says, then he’ll know what to do. Steph walked off and Owens showed up. He asked what that was all about and Jericho told him “Friendship.”
Seth Rollins defeated Chris Jericho via pinfall. If Jericho won he would have earned a spot in the WWE Universal Championship Hell in a Cell match. Early in the contest, Kevin Owens’ music hit and he walked out. The distraction allowed Jericho to gain control for a bit. Later, Rollins got control after hitting a suicide dive on the outside onto Owens. He hit a springboard knee onto Jericho for a two count. He went up top for the splash but Jericho avoided it. Jericho hit the Lionsault for a two count. Later still, Rollins went for a Pedigree but Jericho avoided it. Jericho tried for his finisher but Rollins countered and got the winning pin instead.
Post-match, Owens attacked Rollins and told him “It’s my title, I’m the man!” Owens went for a Popup Powerbomb, but Rollins avoided it and set up for a finisher on Owens. Jericho blindsided him. Rollins made a comeback and hit the Pedigree on Owens. Owens stayed on the outside rather than trying to save Jericho. Raw went off the air as the announcers talked about Goldberg coming to Raw next week.
