WWE Raw Results 08/21/17 for Brooklyn, NY Episode

Welcome to the latest WWE Raw results for the Monday, August 21st, 2017 episode. The latest installment of the weekly pro wrestling program took place at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. Among the superstars appearing on the show were WWE Universal Champion Brock Lesnar, Braun Strowman, Samoa Joe, Roman Reigns, Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, and Finn Balor. Here are all of the latest results for WWE Raw from Brooklyn.

wwe superstar roman reignsBraun Strowman attacked Brock Lesnar during the opening segment. After laying out Brock on the mat, Strowman picked up the WWE Universal title belt. A match was announced between the two for the No Mercy PPV.

Enzo Amore defeated Big Cass in a Street Fight. Cass went for a big boot at one point but Enzo moved. Cass fell out of the ring and landed back. A trainer checked on him as he was swearing about it. The match was called in favor of Enzo since Cass couldn’t go anymore.

Nia Jax defeated Emma via pinfall. This was a quick squash match with Nia hitting a Samoan Drop for the win.

Elias defeated R-Truth via pinfall. At one point, Elias punched Truth in the back and then hit the Drift Away for the win.

There was a segment with Raw GM Kurt Angle introducing John Cena who was now part of Raw. Cena came out and said he was looking for one superstar. Roman Reigns came out and the two had some verbal exchange about their tweets. The two looked ready to go at it, but The Miz came out with Maryse, Bo Dallas, and Curtis Axel. Miz complained about never getting opportunities like Cena and Reigns do after all the work he’s put in for 12 years. Cena ended up saying they’d give Miz a moment then and he can face them with a tag team partner. Miz refused because he was in a suit. Samoa Joe came to the ring and said he’d team with Miz. He punched Cena and a brawl broke out. Eventually Reigns and Cena cleared the ring.

Gran Metalik, Mustafa Ali, Cedric Alexander, and Rich Swann defeated Drew Gulak, Ariya Daivari, Noam Dar, and Tony Nese via pinfall. Cedric Alexander hit the Lumbar Check on Nese for the win.

Dean Ambrose & Seth Rollins defeated Matt & Jeff Hardy via pinfall. The match lasted nearly 17 minutes. At one point, Matt tagged in Jeff to hit Twist of Fate and Swanton. Ambrose got his knees up on the Swanton. Rollins hit a high knee and then Ambrose hit Dirty Deeds, allowing Rollins to pin Jeff.

Sasha Banks was introduced as new Raw women’s champion. She talked about how she will defend the title with class and doesn’t need Nia Jax watching her back. Alexa Bliss came out to talk some trash to Sasha about her always losing the title. Sasha told Alexa to use her rematch clause tonight then. Alexa said no, the fanboys don’t deserve to see her celebration tonight and she would use the rematch next week.

Finn Balor defeated Jason Jordan via pinfall. The match lasted over 11 minutes. Finn was able to hit a Coup de Grace late for the big victory.

It was announced that Akira Tozawa will get a rematch against Neville for the Cruiserweight title on 205 Live. Next week on Raw, Alexa Bliss gets her rematch against Sasha Banks for the WWE Raw Women’s Championship.

John Cena & Roman Reigns defeated The Miz & Samoa Joe. The main event went on for 13 minutes. At one point, the two heels had Reigns isolated. Miz hit multiple Daniel Bryan style kicks on him. Reigns ducked the final one and picked up Miz to slam him down. Cena tagged in and Joe put on the Coquina Clutch. Reigns rushed in to try to break it up with a Superman Punch but hit Cena by accident. Reigns and Joe went to the outside. Miz tried for Skullcrushing Finale on Cena who countered and hit the AA to get the win. Post-match, Reigns and Cena were talking with Reigns saying “my bad.”
