Welcome to the quick WWE Raw Results for the Monday, May 1, 2017 episode. Below are all of the latest match results for the installment of Raw held in Sacramento, California, just one night after the big WWE Payback pay-per-view. Among the superstars on the show were Bayley, Alexa Bliss, Sasha Banks, Braun Strowman, The Miz, and Finn Balor.
Alexa Bliss, Nia Jax, Emma, and Alicia Fox defeated Bayley, Sasha Banks, Mickie James, and Dana Brooke via pinfall. The match came about after an opening segment with Mickie, Dana, Emma, Nia, Sasha, Alicia and Bayley in the ring with a podium. Alexa arrogantly pretended to thank certain individuals for her recent achievement including Mickie, Sasha and Bayley. She told Bayley now her family has a real role model to look up to. That caused Bayley to shove Alexa down and set up the match. Towards the end of the match the action broke down with Sasha and Alicia Fox going at it. Bayley pulled Alicia away from Sasha but moments later Alexa raked Bayley in the eyes, hit a DDT and pinned her.
Luke Gallows defeated Enzo Amore via pinfall. Big Cass and Karl Anderson were ringside. At one point in the match, Enzo got a cut above his eyelid. Later, Enzo was up top for a move but Anderson distracted from outside. That allowed Gallows to take advantage and get the win.
A segment took place with Seth Rollins saying he wants a shot at “The Beast” for the Universal title. Finn Balor interrupted saying he never really lost that title so the line starts with him. Dean Ambrose was out next, mocking them for wanting “Brock” when he is the main fighting champion on “Raw” right now. The Miz came out and said neither Rollins nor Balor deserve a shot at the IC title, he does. It all led to Ambrose calling up Kurt Angle on his smartphone and Angle telling them it will be Balor vs. Rollins vs. Miz with the winner getting a shot at the IC title.
Rich Swann, Akira Tozawa, and Jack Gallagher defeated Noam Dar, Brian Kendrick, and Tony Nese via pinfall. Gallagher brought out 3 umbrellas during his entrance and gave one each to his tag partners. At one point, Kendrick put a submission hold on Gallagher but Tozawa broke it up. Later, Tozawa and Swann hit a dive out onto Dar and Kendrick on the outside. Back in the ring, Gallagher connected with a running dropkick to Kendrick in the corner and then pinned him for the win.
Sheamus and Cesaro came out to cut a promo about last night’s attack on The Hardys and wanting the titles. Matt and Jeff came out. Matt said they have a response, then made the “Delete” sign once before he and Jeff charged the ring. Sheamus and Cesaro fled the ring fast.
Apollo Crews defeated Heath Slater via pinfall. The match was set up because Crews was talking to Slater backstage earlier and Titus O’Neil showed up angry he was talking with them. In the match, Crews hit his sit out power bomb for the win. Post-match, Titus snapped a selfie with Crews and then Rhyno photobombed them.
Raw GM Kurt Angle came to the ring to update everyone on the injuries suffered by Roman Reigns and Braun Strowman. He said he needs to do what’s best to protect both of them. Bray Wyatt made his entrance and then said they hadn’t been formally introduced. He said he isn’t there to do harm to his show but to be a savior. He asked if Angle will let him do his work or stand in his way. Eventually, Wyatt’s sound effect and the lights hit and the segment was over.
Austin Aries defeated TJ Perkins via submission. Towards the close, Perkins kicked Neville in the knee which he’d been favoring throughout the match. He went for the Detonation Kick but Aries avoided that and then locked Perkins into the Last Chancery to make him tap. Post-match, TJ Perkins attacked the bad knee on Neville and put a kneebar on for more injury.
The Miz defeated Seth Rollins and Finn Balor via pinfall to become No. 1 contender for the WWE Intercontinental title. Samoa Joe showed up to take out Rollins late. Balor gained control versus Miz but Bray Wyatt showed up to hit Sister Abigail on Finn. That allowed Miz to get the pinfall victory.
