Welcome to WWE Raw results for the Monday, March 27, 2017 episode from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The latest installment was the last episode of Raw before the WrestleMania 33 pay-per-view. Among those appearing live were Seth Rollins, Triple H, Bayley, Sasha Banks, Charlotte, Roman Reigns, Goldberg, and Brock Lesnar. Below are all of the latest WWE Raw results for the latest show.
Raw opened with WWE Raw Women’s champ Bayley coming to the ring to discuss having her dream made by being in a match at Mania this year. She talked about the tough task she’ll have with three competitors. Each of them came out one by one to say their piece about why they’ll win. Charlotte played up how Sasha has been playing Bayley’s friendship to get the title back. Nia Jax came out and accused them all of having high school girl drama. Charlotte made another remark about Sasha and she attacked Charlotte. Nia went after Bayley in the ring as Cole said they’ll have a tag team match next.
Bayley & Sasha Banks defeated Charlotte Flair & Nia Jax via pinfall. It was noted during this match that Sunday’s title match is a Fatal Fourway elimination match for the title. The finish came down to Bayley against Charlotte. The champ withstood Charlotte’s attack and hit her with the Bayley to Belly suplex for the win. Post-match, Nia Jax leveled all three of the other women’s stars before leaving the ring.
Sami Zayn had an interview backstage with Charley Caruso. He talked up Mick Foley and mentioned him being fired, then Zayn said he was officially entering the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal. Stephanie showed up and told him that with Foley gone things are different now. She told Zayn he needs to earn that spot at WrestleMania. Steph booked him in a No DQ match against Kevin Owens and if Zayn loses he’s fired.
Austin Aries defeated Noam Dar via submission. Neville was on guest commentary. The close featured Aries able to lock the Last Chancery onto Dar to make him tap. Post-match, Aries stood on the corner and pointed up towards Neville who stood up on the table to hoist his title belt up.
Seth Rollins arrived to the ring walking down the ramp with a crutch for assistance. In the ring was the standard table and comfy chairs for the contract signing. HHH came to the ring and gave Rollins the terms that if he attacks him tonight, the match is canceled for WrestleMania, and HHH has the right to fight back. Triple H teased leaving and canceling the match when Rollins wouldn’t sit down. Rollins eventually sat down in his chair and HHH got back into the ring. They went back and forth with discussion of the dynamic between them in the past, with HHH playing up how Rollins blew it when he had a chance at it all. Rollins said he prefers who he was before he met Hunter and this match at WrestleMania is not revenge but redemption.
Eventually both guys signed off on the match. HHH looked like he was going to leave but instead he pushed the table into Rollins’ bad leg. He went for an attack with the crutch, but Rollins did a pele style kick and knocked him down. The two superstars each battled back and forth a bit with both teasing Pedigree attempts. Eventually, Rollins got the edge and knocked HHH out of the ring.
Big Show vs. Jinder Mahal in an Over the Top Rope Challenge. Show made quick work of Jinder and tossed him out. Bo Dallas came to the ring next and Show soon eliminated him. Next up were The Shining Stars, who ended up both being eliminated by Show. Eventually a handful of others came to the ring together including R-Truth, Goldust, and Curtis Axel. They teamed up with all of the others who Show had tossed out and eventually were able to lift Show up to push over the top rope. Show got back in and started going after everyone until they were down on the mat. Braun Strowman’s music hit. He came onto the stage and said everyone wants to see him come kick Big Show’s ass right now but he does what he wants on his own terms. He said they’ll have to wait until Sunday to see that happen in the Battle Royal. Show yelled for Strowman to get in the ring now.
Charly Caruso interviewed Roman Reigns backstage about the “ominous signs” that are being shown from Undertaker ahead of their match. Reigns said he doesn’t believe in signs, worry about mind games or believe in dead men. He said he believes in the big fight. He promised to go out to the ring tonight and tell everyone what he’s going to do at WrestleMania.
Backstage, Mike Rome was interviewing Sheamus and Cesaro. Gallows and Anderson showed up to knock both guys down. They hit Sheamus on the back with a big piece of wood. Next, they grabbed a ladder and rammed it into Cesaro sending him crashing through some boxes or equipment to leave both guys laid out.
Neville defeated Jack Gallagher via submission in a non-title match. Gallagher gained some momentum at one point and hit his Mary Poppins umbrella jump off the corner onto Neville near the bottom of the ramp. Back in the ring, Neville made his comeback and managed to lock the Rings of Saturn on to make Gallagher tap. Post-match, Austin Aries popped up on the big screen with a “special breaking news interview.” He had New Day there to ask who they think will win the Cruiserweight title match at Mania. They asked Aries to show his hip moves. He started doing the New Day schtick and they backed him as the winner on Sunday with a new “A double A” chant to go with their vote of confidence.
Roman Reigns came to the ring to a strong amount of boos from the live crowd. He talked up how he won the Royal Rumble in Philadelphia two years ago. He said he went on to main event WrestleMania, twice. He said he thought he had the biggest matches of his career then, but he was wrong because this year he takes on the Undertaker. He said he doesn’t care what people think or what The Undertaker thinks. Taker’s bells sounded and video was shown on the big screen of Taker digging a special grave for Reigns. Taker told Reigns at WrestleMania the “Roman Empire will fall and the Ultimate Thrill Ride will be your last ride.”
A tombstone was shown next to Taker with Roman Reigns name and the date April 2, 2017, on it. The lights went out and the video on screen stopped. Undertaker’s bells sounded again and when the lights came back on, Taker was in the ring behind Reigns. They stared each other down. Taker had a mic in hand and told Reigns “At WrestleMania, you will rest in peace.” Taker raised up both arms and lowered them. Thunder sounded and the bells chimed as the lights went completely out and Raw went to commercial.
Enzo Amore & Big Cass vs. Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson in a non-title match never took place. As the champs were making their entrance down the ramp, Sheamus and Cesaro came out from backstage with a ladder and smashed it into them from behind. They went down to the ring and Cesaro hit a big uppercut when Enzo tried to jump off the apron. In the ring they used the ladder to hit against Cass in the corner but Cass was able to kick it at Sheamus. He leveled Cesaro with the big boot. Gallows and Anderson got in the ring and clipped Cass’ leg to take the ladder from him. Enzo tried to get on the corner for a move but they used the ladder to jab him causing Enzo to hit the outside floor.
Sami Zayn vs. Kevin Owens in a No Disqualification match – The stipulation was Zayn needed to win to qualify for the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal, but if he lost he’d be fired. The two fought up to the top of the stage at one point with Owens getting knocked off the stage towards the floor. Zayn backed up and then hit a flip off the stage to take out Owens down below as Raw went to break. After commercials, Owens got a big move on the outside when he hit a DDT with Zayn on the steel ring steps. Zayn hit a Blue Thunder Bomb and thought he had the win but Owens kicked out of it. Samoa Joe started to come down to the ring after Owens knocked Zayn down. Joe got a chair from ringside and set up to hit Zayn outside the ring. Chris Jericho’s music hit and he surprised Joe from behind coming out of the crowd. Jericho used the chair to smash on Joe and knock him down. Owens saw it and went out through the ropes on the apron to kick at Jericho. Zayn took advantage of it by grabbing Owens and getting the quick schoolboy pinfall for the win. Post-match, Owens attacked Zayn, but Jericho got in the ring and hit Owens with the chair. Owens eventually fled to the ramp and
Samoa Joe started to come down to the ring after Owens knocked Zayn down. Joe got a chair from ringside and set up to hit Zayn outside the ring. Chris Jericho’s music hit and he surprised Joe from behind coming out of the crowd. Jericho used the chair to smash on Joe and knock him down. Owens saw it and went out through the ropes on the apron to kick at Jericho. Zayn took advantage of it by grabbing Owens and getting the quick schoolboy pinfall for the win. Post-match, Owens attacked Zayn, but Jericho got in the ring and hit Owens with the chair. Owens eventually fled to the ramp and retreated with Joe. Jericho got on the mic and asked Owens if he knows what happens..then eventually told him “You just made the list!”
Goldberg and Brock Lesnar come face to face before Mania – Brock Lesnar’s music hit and he arrived out onto the stage with Paul Heyman before they made their way to the ring. Heyman introduced himself and his client before starting to talk about Mania. The fans started a “Gold-berg” chant causing Heyman to stop a bit. Soon a “Suplex City” chant followed which cause Brock to smirk and nod. Heyman said it seems there’s a difference of opinion and that gets settled on Sunday at WrestleMania. Heyman talked up what Goldberg has done so far since returning to the ring. Heyman called Goldberg a “real life superhero” and “the man” but his client “Brock Lesnar is the beast who will chew him up and spit him out.” Heyman said there won’t be any spears this Sunday because “Goldberg, you can’t survive the F5.”
Goldberg’s music hit and he made his walk from backstage with the Universal title belt around his waist. Goldberg hit the stage and went through his sparks and pyro before walking out onto the stage. He said the people didn’t come to see them talk, they came to see them fight. Goldberg said he can’t bring everyone from Philly to WrestleMania, but maybe they can bring Philly to WrestleMania. Goldberg made his way down the ramp as Brock got out of the ring. A quick spear ensued as Goldberg tackled Lesnar near the ring. In the ring, Goldberg held up his Universal Championship belt. Lesnar recovered on the outside as Goldberg posed inside the ring. Lesnar and Heyman retreated up to the stage with Brock turning to see Goldberg holding his title up in the ring.
