wwe star kevin owensThe opening segment had WWE Universal Champion Kevin Owens coming to the ring with US Champion Chris Jericho. Owens boasted about proving Mick Foley and everyone wrong by retaining the title against Reigns last night. He said he couldn’t have done it without some help and praised Chris Jericho. Jericho went on to brag about lasting the longest time in this year’s Rumble and also making history as the man who has spent a record amount of time in the match over the years. Eventually, Braun Strowman came out to the ring.

Owens said it’s funny he came out because he was about to thank him too. Strowman said he did it because he doesn’t like Reigns and wants his title shot. Owens said interfering in the match doesn’t qualify him for that. Strowman had footage shown of Owens said that he’d be next in line for a title shot after Owens retained the title at the Rumble PPV. Mick Foley came out next and confirmed that Owens said that. He booked the title defense for Raw, tonight despite Owens’ protesting.

Seth Rollins came to the ring after commercial break. He got on the mic and said he knows Stephanie wanted to get to the ring first so she could call him out and scold him for this past weekend’s interruption of NXT TakeOver. He said “so get out here buttercup and let’s do this.” Stephanie’s music hit and she came to the ring. Stephanie informed Rollins that HHH isn’t there tonight because he’s afraid – afraid of what he might do to Rollins.

The two talked trash back and forth with Rollins said over the past two months her husband’s been exposed for the gutless snake he is. Steph said if he wants to keep playing “the game” he’ll be the “architect of his own demise.” Rollins said he’s got nothing left to lose. He asked her what happens if he invades the next WWE Board of Directors meeting and how Vince McMahon will feel about that. Rollins said this doesn’t end until he gets his hands on Triple H and slays the king. Stephanie became irate and told Rollins she lied and Triple H is on his way here tonight and “he’s coming for you.” Rollins looked excited by the opportunity to get his hands on him.

Bayley, Cesaro and Sheamus defeated Charlotte, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson via pinfall. Late in the match, Cesaro dove out over the ropes to take down Gallows and Anderson as Sheamus had been battling them. In the ring, Charlotte tried to lock a Figure Eight on Bayley who kicked her away and followed up with a Bayley to Belly Suplex for the win.

Neville came out with the Cruiserweight Championship for his coronation as the new champion. He talked up how all of the fans didn’t believe in him but now they will. Eventually, Rich Swann came out and said he’s not there to fight but is demanding his rematch. Neville asked why he’s out there and Swann said he was sick of listening to his made up beef with the fans. Neville told Swann he needs to get down on one knee and bow to him. Swann refused to and went to leave the ring, so Neville went for the attack. Swann retaliated and the two got into it. They each had the upper hand at different spots. At the end, Swann dove out onto him and threw punches before returning to the ring and pointing at the championship belt.

Backstage, a trainer was tending to Sasha’s wrapped knee from last night. Bayley came in to have a word with Sasha. She told Banks she’s a 3-time women’s champion so she doesn’t have to prove anything by going after Nia Jax. Sasha shook her head and said unlike some people she isn’t happy with coming up short.

Braun Strowman defeated Kevin Owens due to disqualification in a WWE Universal Championship match. Chris Jericho went to the commentary table despite Owens trying to tell him to come to ringside. When Braun Strowman made his entrance, he walked over to Jericho and kicked him in the chest. From there, Strowman cleared the announce table and grabbed Jericho for a chokeslam through the table. Braun pointed at Owens and headed to the ring for the match. Strowman dominated for a good bit of it, but Owens made a comeback with cannonballs on Strowman for a near fall. Later as the action was going on, Roman Reigns’ music hit and he arrived to the ring to attack Strowman causing a DQ. On the outside, Reigns hit a Superman punch off the steel steps and then a spear tackle to take Strowman down. He saw Owens getting up in the ring and slid in, then hit a Spear on Owens before leaving.

Nia Jax defeated Sasha Banks via submission. Late in the match, Sasha had some momentum and went for a slide kick but Nia caught it. She put Sasha into a full nelson and then whipped her knee against the ring post. Nia put Sasha back in the ring and kicked her hurt knee. She put a submission on to pull back the bad knee until she got the submission victory. Post-match, Nia put on the hold again. Bayley came out to help Sasha backstage.

Enzo Amore & Big Cass defeated Rusev & Jinder Mahal via pinfall in a Texas Tornado match. The two teams bantered a bit before the match with Enzo and Cass doing their schtick and calling Lana the “wicked witch” to fire up Rusev and Jinder.¬†Late in this one, Enzo got fired up and went for a suicide dive onto Rusev and Jinder. They caught him and Rusev dropped Enzo onto the barricade. From there, the heels worked over Cass on the outside and then went into the ring to work on Enzo. Cass managed to recover and got back in the ring to go after the heels. He slammed Rusev and hit an Empire Elbow for a near fall, that was broken up by Jinder. Enzo managed to pull Jinder to the outside and ran him into the ring steps. From there, Enzo and Cass hit a Rocket Launcher on Rusev for the win.

They showed the camera outside as a limo pulled up and the door opened. Triple H got out with the broadcast team noting he was heading inside the building.

Triple H arrived out in his business suit with his “King of Kings” music and entrance. In the ring, he talked about how Rollins threw away everything that Triple H helped “hand him” due to getting injured and having to give up the title. He said Rollins thought he could just return months later and have everything back. HHH said when Rollins returned he was a “failure.” Hunter said he gave Rollins the world and he spit in his face. Hunter said he’s trying to put away the thoughts of being in the ring to be a “creator,” and help bring new product to the fans. He said that is until Seth Rollins comes to NXT and interrupts what he’s trying to create. HHH said he’s done trying. He took off his suit jacket and tie, then unbuttoned his shirt. Hunter told him not to worry about coming to his house because he’s in the ring right there right now. HHH said Rollins knows who his creator is, so he should get his ass to the ring and meet his destroyer.

Rollins’ theme music hit and he arrived out on stage, then took his shirt off and headed to the ring. As he got down towards the ring, suddenly a mystery attacker rushed over and knocked Rollins down with blows. He kept up the attack and eventually picked Rollins up with Triple H standing nearby. The announce team pointed out it was Samoa Joe from NXT. Joe kept beating up Rollins around the ring and tossed him back inside. He eventually locked in a submission chokehold to choke out Rollins to close out Raw.
