Roman Reigns came out to start off the show, with the commentators talking about how Jericho won the US Championship from Reigns with Kevin Owens’ help last week. The shark cage was shown on stage that Jericho will be locked inside of for the Royal Rumble. He said nobody can beat him one-on-one and he plans to headline WrestleMania for a third time.

Paul Heyman came out to interrupt and boasted that his client will win the Royal Rumble and headline Mania. Next out were Jericho and Owens, who talked up holding the two titles. Jericho suggested Owens will defeat Reigns at the Rumble and Jericho will win the Rumble match so they’ll meet at WrestleMania. Next out was Seth Rollins, then Braun Strowman.

Brock Lesnar’s music hit, but before he could come out, Sami Zayn showed up to attack Strowman from behind. That caused a brawl with Zayn hitting a Helluva Kick on Strowman. Reigns went for a clothesline on Lesnar but he ducked and hit a German Suplex on Roman. Lesnar ended up grabbing Zayn and hitting a German Suplex. He taunted Strowman to come at him, but Strowman didn’t bite. Reigns got back in the ring and hit a Superman Punch on Lensar, then Owens and Jericho. Lesnar got back up and grabbed Reigns to hit an F5 on him. That left Brock as Last Man Standing as his music played. He and Strowman had another stare down.

Enzo Amore & Big Cass defeated Jinder Mahal and Rusev via pinfall. The heels had control against Enzo after commercial break. He eventually managed to hit a DDT on Rusev. Both guys were able to make tags, with Cass coming in to take down Jinder. He hit an Empire Elbow on him, but Rusev was in to break it up. Moments later, Cass delivered a big boot to Jinder and tagged in Enzo so they could finish with the Rocket Launcher.

Anderson had a pinfall but the ref was down. Another ref ran in and made the count. The original ref came to and waved off the decision, calling it a disqualification on Sheamus and Cesaro. Anderson and Gallows hit Magic Killer on Sheamus post-match.

A match was set to go between Tony Nese and Rich Swann. As Swann was making his entrance, Neville rushed out through the crowd and attacked him. He kept stomping and kicking at him. Charlotte came to the ring to discuss her winning strategy that has made her champion and kept her undefeated at WWE pay-per-views. She mentioned studying each of her opponents inside and out. She then started to mock Bayley, calling her obsessive about former WWE stars and even showing some of her old poems she used to write. Charlotte attempted to read one but then stopped and mocked a fan. She eventually tossed the papers out of the ring. Charlotte said the idea of Bayley being someone like her who was born in the business is ridiculous.

Bayley made her entrance and asked Charlotte if she was using this as her strategy to try to get in her head and embarrass her. She said she’s not ashamed of her passion for WWE. She said she may not have had a father in the business who could make one phone call to get her into WWE, but he used to take her to every live WWE event in San Jose when she was younger, even if he didn’t have the money for it. She told everyone that she said to her dad one day she would be in the WWE. She gave Charlotte a new poem, “Roses are red, violets are blue, at Royal Rumble, I will defeat you.” Bayley said it makes her smile to think of beating the PPV streak Charlotte owens. She said Charlotte will call her champ in two weeks from now.

Cedric Alexander defeated Brian Kendrick via pinfall. Alicia Fox wasn’t there and commentator Austin Aries said she wasn’t with Alexander or Noam Dar at the moment. In the latest match, Kendrick had Alexander in a submission hold at one point. Alicia Fox rushed to ringside and pushed the rope towards Cedric allowing him to grab it to break the hold. Alexander went to the outside to ask Alicia what she was doing there. Kendrick took advantage and dropkicked Cedric from behind, then tossed him back in the ring. Cedric countered another move by Kendrick with the Lumbar Check. Post-match, Alicia got into the ring and clapped for Cedric. He looked like he was going to hug her, but instead ducked her and went backstage. Noam Dar was shown watching on a backstage monitor.

Backstage, an interviewed tried to ask Alicia Fox what just happened out there, but she wasn’t interested in talking about it.

Cole mentioned the Royal Rumble. Later on, the heels kept control against Zayn for a bit until he broke away to tag in Reigns. Reigns went for a Superman Punch on Strowman, but Strowman caught Reigns with a hand around his throat, then shoved him towards Owens for a Superkick for the near fall.

Late in the match, Reigns made a hot tag to Rollins after the heels had been in control. Rollins hit a suicide dive out onto Jericho, and then Zayn hit a flip over the top rope onto Owens. Strowman went to clothesline Zayn to the floor, but Zayn ducked and Strowman wound up hitting the ringpost. Rollins delivered a flying knee to Jericho for a near fall. Strowman tagged back in and Rollins kicked him. Reigns hit a Superman Punch on Strowman. Zayn tagged in next. Rollins dove out to take down Jericho and Owens on the outside.
