Ryback will defend his Intercontinental Championship at Sunday’s WWE Night of Champions PPV in Houston, TX.

Several new Night of Champions 2015 matches were announced or set up during the latest episode of Monday Night Raw. These include matches for the WWE Tag Team Championship, the Intercontinental Championship, stipulations for the Divas match, and a matchup for the Night of Champions Kickoff Show. All championships will officially be defended on Sunday night. The latest matches will involve current champions Nikki Bella, Ryback and The New Day defending their titles, in addition to a match involving no titles on the Kickoff Show. Here’s all the latest details on what went down on Raw to set up the matches.

Early in the night during the Sept. 14, 2015 Raw results, New Day had to defend the WWE Tag Team titles against challengers Prime Time Players. A distraction from Xavier Woods with his trombone on the apron helped out as Titus got hit down by Big E. Kofi Kingston then came in to help him perform their double team finisher to retain the titles by pinfall. Post-match, Dudley Boyz came out as it’s now official that these two teams will battle over the titles at Night of Champions.

Later on during the show, Intercontinental Champion Ryback came to the ring to cut a promo about being proud to be the champ. He then turned his attention to Kevin Owen, who cost him a win on SmackDown against Seth Rollins. Owens eventually came out to talk trash at Ryback, but the big guy would inform Owens they’ll fight over the title at Night of Champions. Can Kevin Owens capture his first major championship now that he’s on the main roster?

Also during Raw, Nikki Bella would defend her Divas Championship against Charlotte as Nikki was tied with A.J. Lee for longest reign as divas champ. In the match, things got a bit crazy as Alicia Fox and Brie would end up in the ring at one point. Charlotte was able to capture a pinfall on Brie and the ref counted it, giving the belt to Charlotte. However, Stephanie McMahon came out to announce that Charlotte couldn’t win the title by pinning someone who wasn’t even champion. She said Charlotte was winner by DQ, but Nikki was still Divas Champion. However, Stephanie announced that Charlotte gets a rematch at Night of Champions and if Nikki loses by pinfall, submission, contout or disqualification, she will lose the title.

In another announcement made during the night, Stardust and Neville will face off in the ring as part of the WWE Night of Champions 2015 Kickoff Show. That’s scheduled for a 7 p.m. EST start on Sunday night to lead into the main pay-per view. Night of Champions PPV arrives at 8 p.m. EST exclusively on WWE Network from Houston, Texas, Sunday night.
