2015 WWE Hell in a Cell Match Card Results:
Dolph Ziggler, Cesaro & Neville vs. Rusev, Sheamus & King Barrett*
Early on in the pre-show match, Stardust and The Ascension were shown sitting in the crowd watching. Before a commercial break, Rusev delivered a superkick on Dolph behind the ref’s back. Sheamus crawled to a cover but Dolph got his arm up before 3. Late in the match, Cesaro hit the Cesaro Express multiple times on Barrett. He took out Rusev and Sheamus on the outside then tried to score the winning pin on Barrett who kicked out at 3. Later, he hit a Cesaro Swing for 20 rotations on Barrett, then tagged in Neville to hit Red Arrow for the pinfall win.
Winners: Dolph Ziggler, Cesaro & Neville defeated Rusev, Sheamus & King Barrett via pinfall.
TBA vs. John Cena (c) – WWE United States Title Match
John Cena arrived out to kickoff the first match of the card. Joe Manganiello and Sophia Vergara were shown seated in the front row. On the mic, Cena gave a short speech after hyping up the Staples Center fans then yelled “If you want some come get some!”
Jack Swagger’s music hit and Zeb Colter came riding out on a motorized scooter. Colter talked about Cena being a “polarizing figure” and saying he thinks the people of all different backgrounds need to come together. He said it’s also time to see Cena lose the title and have someone hold it who can do more good with it than Cena ever can. Alberto Del Rio’s music hit and he arrived out to accept the challenge.
At one point, Del Rio revved up for his “Si” kick move but Cena rushed over and chopped him down to the mat. Later, Cena hit his series of moves including Five Knuckle Shuffle. Cena hoisted him up for an Attitude Adjustment but Del Rio dropped off his back, hit a Backstabber and followed with a big kick to the head to get the winning pinfall.
Winner: Alberto Del Rio defeated John Cena via pinfall to become new United States champion.
Triple H and Stephanie where shown backstage enjoying the match that just happened. Seth Rollins walked in and said it was a great moment but not as good as when he won the US title to become first superstar to hold that and the WWE World Heavyweight title at once. Seth began talking about his match against Kane, when Corporate Kane walked in to interrupt. He apologized for defying a direct order two weeks ago on Raw. Triple H told Kane it was a private meeting and his attendance wasn’t needed. Kane said only one thing left to say. He turned into “Demon” Kane in terms of his angry expression and said “Good luck, you’re gonna need it” to Rollins.
Roman Reigns vs. Bray Wyatt – Hell in a Cell Match
Reigns took the upperhand inside the cell early as he beat up Wyatt around the corners of the ring. Wyatt punched back and headbutted Reigns in the back of his head but Reigns came back with a huge chop when they ran the ropes. He followed by tossing Bray across the ring with a suplex. Outside the ring, Reigns smashed Wyatt face first into the steel steps and then into the cell wall. Bray gained control with a shot to the face when Reigns tried to get him through the ropes. Wyatt grabbed a kendo stick from under the ring and smashed it on Reigns through the ropes then brought it in the ring for more damage.
Outside the ring, Wyatt continued to abuse Reigns with the kendo stick by sitting in a steel chair next to him and smacking him with it. He set up a chair inside the cage wall and then the Kendo stick inside part of the wall too. The two fought on their feet and Bray smashed Reigns face first through the end stick, breaking it in half.
Reigns gained some energy to fight back and eventually shoved Bray face first into the steel chair stuck into the cage wall. Reigns threw Bray into the other cage wall then went under the ring to retrieve a few kendo sticks of his own. He doubled them up for repeated shots to the gut outside the ring to drop Wyatt to the ground. With Bray down, Reigns grabbed a table from under the ring and shoved it into the ring with a smirk on his face. He went back under the ring and grabbed a second table.
Bray was in the ring and shoved the one table to the outside floor so Reigns rushed over and hit a Drive By dropkick on him on the apron. Reigns set up both tables on the outside of the ring. Reigns tried to set up a suplex from the apron onto one of the tables, but instead Wyatt grabbed him and side slammed him down through it.
Wyatt set up a third table inside the ring and would later try to superplex Reigns from the corner. Reigns blocked it and got down to powerbomb Wyatt through the table for a near fall. Reigns would counter Sister Abigail moments later for a near fall rollup pin, then hit a Superman Punch for another near fall. From the apron, Wyatt and Reigns fought right near the other table that was set up on the outside. Reigns would Spear Wyatt through the air and down through the table smashing it.
Back in the ring, Reigns rushed at Wyatt for a big Spear but Wyatt avoided it, grabbed him and hit Sister Abigail. Reigns kicked out of the pinfall at the last second. Wyatt grabbed the two kendo sticks and began to smash them on Reigns on the mat. He stuck them both into the corner of the ring poking out and picked up Reigns to try to impale. Reigns countered his attempt and grabbed a stick to hit Wyatt, then threw him face first into the other kendo stick. He hit a big spear to follow and got the winning pin.
Winner: Roman Reigns won via pinfall over Bray Wyatt inside Hell in a Cell.
Ryback vs. Kevin Owens (c) – WWE Intercontinental Title Match
Dudley Boyz vs. New Day (c) – WWE Tag Team Title Match
During the match, Bubba and D-Von were about to get the tables but Kofi Kingston jumped off the corner and took down both men with a huge dropkick. The ref became distracted with D-Von and Big E and Kofi went to the outside to grab the trombone. The ref still had his back turned as Kofi tossed the trombone to Bubba and fell to the mat. As the ref turned around, Kofi pretended he had been hit. The ref confronted both men for several moments and the crowd chanted “No” so the ref let the match continue. Moments later, the trombone was in play again as Big E got on the apron and hit Bubba in the back with it. D-Von took him out over the top rope but Kofi connected on Trouble in Paradise to get the pinfall victory.
Winners: New Day defeated Dudley Boyz via pinfall to retain the WWE Tag Team titles.
*Match will take place on the WWE Hell in a Cell Kickoff Show which will be live online through WWE Network and WWE’s social media channels such as YouTube, Twitter or Facebook.
Of course one stipulation we’re keeping an eye on tonight: If Kane fails to defeat Seth Rollins for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, then Corporate Kane will be removed from his position by The Authority. So the demon from Hell just may hear the words “You’re Fired” from Stephanie McMahon on tomorrow’s Raw!
