Fans continue to wonder will Jeff Hardy return to WWE in either 2015 or 2016? The popular “enigmatic” superstar had been a regular working for TNA where he captured their championships on a few occasions. However, WWE fans are hoping for Hardy to make a comeback and impact within WWE where his talent could certainly be a helpful thing.
Recently, WrestlingInc reported on Wrestling Observer Newsletter’s news of Hardy. On the recent segment of RAW where the Dudley Boyz and Christian/Edge crossed paths backstage, the Hardys were also mentioned. Jeff was also mentioned during at least a few video clips on Stone Cold Steve Austin’s podcast with Christian and Edge after Raw. Reportedly, Hardy was one of the potential returns that the WWE had polled fans on months ago.
Speculation is continuing to run rampant that WWE may look to bring back Jeff Hardy, and another big name, possibly Kurt Angle. Both performers were working for TNA, but the company has needed to reduce costs. Angle announced he would be taking time off and won’t be re-signing with TNA at the end of this year. Hardy is no longer working with TNA, leading to rumors he could be back in WWE in 2015 or 2016.
Jeff was last seen getting a beatdown from CM Punk on an episode of SmackDown, before being written out of WWE. The two competed in a steel cage rematch for the World Heavyweight Championship, with a stipulation attached that Hardy would have to leave WWE if he lost. Punk won the matchup and then sent Jeff off with a beatdown to write him out of WWE in 2009. While with the company he was heavily decorated over his years, winning the Intercontinental Title four times, the WWF/WWE World Tag Team titles six times with Matt Hardy, and winning the World Heavyweight Championship twice.
A Jeff Hardy return would certainly be welcomed to insert some freshness into the recent WWE World Heavyweight Championship picture. Just imagine a feud with Seth Rollins and Jeff Hardy competing in ladder matches, cage matches or other high-flying contests.
