Tonight’s episode of Raw will take place live from Minneapolis, Minnesota and features one of the biggest episodes of the show in recent weeks. The Monday, August 17th show on USA will feature live appearances from Undertaker and Brock Lesnar, as well as the return of John Cena to the scene to accept Seth Rollins’ challenge in person. Also tonight, more buildup on all of the SummerSlam matches including the Intercontinental Title Triple Threat, Tag Team Fatal Fourway and the various tag team feud matches.
Several weeks ago, John Cena suffered a broken nose during his epic main event match against WWE Champion Seth Rollins. Amazingly, Cena completed the match despite the injury, but has been sidelined for several weeks now. It had been up in the air whether Cena would be able to compete against Rollins at SummerSlam, but their “Title vs. Title” match has been set. Rollins called out Cena to face him in person, so expect the United States Champion to show up tonight ahead of the big pay-per-view this weekend.
Also, it was at the Battleground pay-per-view weeks ago when Undertaker made his dramatic return to WWE. The Deadman arrived just as Brock Lesnar had what appeared to be a winning pinfall on champion Seth Rollins. Taker interrupted the potential championship win and served notice on Brock that he was back for revenge. The two met face-to-face on Raw several weeks ago and all hell broke lose. What will happen when these two are both in the building live tonight?
Those are just two matches on the SummerSlam and there are plenty more. For example, Ryback has recently returned and will be defending his Intercontinental Championship against The Miz and Big Show in a Triple Threat match at the PPV. What will occur if and when these three cross paths again on tonight’s Raw?
The WWE Divas revolution also continues and they are scheduled for a three team Triple Threat match at SummerSlam. Recent matches have involved singles competition for the members of Team Bella, Team Bad and PCB. Will any of these divas tangle again tonight ahead of the bigger match?
“Arrow” actor Stephen Amell was at Raw last week and jumped into action to go after Stardust. It ended up setting up a big tag team match where Amell will team up with Neville against Stardust and King Barrett. It’s not expected that Amell will be on Raw tonight, so will that leave Neville as an easy target for Barrett and Stardust?
We can’t forget about the other ongoing feuds that will head full steam into SummerSlam. They’ll include Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns’ feud with Bray Wyatt and Luke Harper, as well as the newest SummerSlam match, Cesaro vs. Kevin Owens. Will any or all of these stars clash on tonight’s episode?
WWE Raw will start up on Monday at 8 p.m. EST live on USA for cable and satellite viewing. Cable and satellite viewers can also watch it live online through the USA official website. There may be on-demand replays available there or on WWE Network for subscribers after the event has aired.
